My Story

Hello, I’m Cate

I didn’t set out to become a celebrant — it’s more like this path found me.

I was born in Clydebank, Glasgow and am now rooted in Kingsbarns with Craig and our little Jack Russell, Millie, who is 14 years old. My journey has always revolved around family, friends, and community.

Life has taken me on many journeys…

At the heart of everything I do are kindness, authenticity, humility, and integrity — values that guide every conversation, every ceremony, and every connection. I embrace spiritual growth and enjoy diving into self-awareness and learning. Recently, I completed two life-changing courses: The Way and Anam Cara.

Whether I’m sprinting around in my baffies before a wedding, standing alongside a grieving family, or sharing a cup of tea and a chat, my focus is always the same: honouring your story with genuine compassion and care. This hands-on, heart-led approach is what drew me into celebrancy — and what continues to inspire me each time I craft a “hatch, match, or despatch” ceremony.

Outside of my celebrant work, I’m deeply invested in the Kingsbarns community. You’ll find me serving on the boards of the Kingsbarns Community Development Trust and the Kingsbarns Community Benefit Society, lending a hand at our community-owned Inn, or helping organise local events.

I also cherish my ties to Glasgow — where I often visit friends and family — and regularly travel across Fife (and as far afield as Glasgow, Dundee, Perth, and beyond) to bring ceremonies to life.

When I’m not officiating, I love braving the North Sea for a swim, cycling around the East Neuk of Fife, meditating to centre my mind, or curling up with a good book. One of my most meaningful joys is crafting funeral wreaths and treats for families in need — a small act of service that brings comfort during difficult times.

All these facets of my life — from community boards to sea swimming — feed into my work as a celebrant. They help me connect deeply, stay grounded in my values, and bring warmth, authenticity, and unwavering integrity to every ceremony I lead.

Kindness

Kindness shapes how I listen, how I speak, and how I show up for the people I work with.

Integrity

I do what I say I will, and I hold true to my word — with honesty at the heart of everything I offer.

Humility

I don't pretend to have all the answers — I'm here to walk alongside you, not ahead of you.

Authenticity

What you see is what you get. I bring my full, real self to this work, and I invite you to do the same.

I'd love to hear from you

Whether you're full of ideas or just starting to think things through, or if you just want to check my availability and costs — I’d love to hear from you!

Just drop me an email, send me a WhatsApp or text, or fill out the contact form — whatever’s easiest and there’s no obligation to book.
